Your Organization
By Ross Hutchings, CAE
Executive Director, Child Support Directors Association (CSDA)
First of all, I want to thank you for allowing me to help lead CSDA- YOUR organization. I come to CSDA not having child support background, but extensive background in leading non-profit organizations. I have over 30 years of experience in managing association, with more than 15 years as Executive Director for a wide variety of industries – from cops to courts, law enforcement to agricultural, tourism to entrepreneur businesses, insurance to sports, real estate to courts . I hope to bring the knowledge, experience and ideas I have learned to help CSDA to grow.
With the recent changes that have taken place within the child support profession, CSDA has redefined itself. Last year CSDA reexamined its role and purpose and discovered that we do indeed need a strong professional organization. Training, education, collaboration, mentoring, best practices and networking ranked as some of the most important benefits of CSDA. I am looking forward to our Annual Directors meeting where we will have the opportunity to all come to a consensus on what our purpose, mission and vision are. We will walk away from that meeting with clarity and a definitive plan for 2017 that will help move us toward our ultimate goal.
I was asked during the interview process what my ideas were to help our membership realize the value of CSDA. To me, this is the foundation of every professional organization, such as CSDA. We exist to do collectively what our members (LCSA’s) cannot do individually. My goal is to build CSDA into a tight-knit community, one where Directors and others within our LCSA’s can go to get the best education, latest trends, best practices, mentoring and help they need – a fraternity/sorority organization where our members feel comfortable in going to find the help and support they need.
This newsletter is but one of the many changes you will be a part of in the near future. I want to hear from you – what should we be providing to meet your needs. Be looking for a personal visit from me within the year. But don’t wait for that visit – email call me to let me know how we can help. I am excited for this opportunity to help us grow and build YOUR organization to be indispensable to you.
