A CHILD’S WELL-BEING… IT TAKES A FAMILY

Policy Symposium themed “A Child’s Well-Being…It Takes a Family“, will illuminate and educate attendees about the crisis in American families as it relates to the well-being of California’s children and the lasting consequences that result from economic instability.

Who should attend? Public and Private sector agencies, policymakers, judicial partners, health administrators, Non-Profit agencies, that support successful outcomes for children.

Special Guest Speakers

Edin, Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at John Hopkins University and Author of four publications: $2.00 a Day, Living on Almost Nothing in America; Making Ends Meet: How Single Mothers Survive Welfare and Low-Wage Work; Doing the Best I Can: Fatherhood in the Inner City; and Promises I Can Keep: Why Poor Women Put Motherhood Before Marriage.

Struggles of Single Mothers will be Kathryn’s presentation based on her qualitative research from three decades studying some of the country’s most dangerous, impoverished neighborhoods.

emilyabt2Emily Abt, Award-winning filmmaker dedicated to creating fiction and documentary projects with social issue themes. Her work has been lauded by publications such as the New York Times for gaining unprecedented access into hidden worlds and taking an honest approach to delicate subject matter.

“Daddy Don’t Go” is the documentary produced and directed by Emily that chronicles the lives of four disadvantaged single fathers living in New York, struggling to provide for their kids.

Using scalable, sustainable, uniform protocols and analytics across human services, healthcare, education and government programs

Wilson is leading a national social change movement to treat the condition of poverty.

Solutions for Bridging Gaps and Forming Partnerships to benefit the lives of children, will be presented by Dr. Wilson.
